Living Lab
SALAM-MED frames the project actions as a co-researching process with (and not just for) stakeholders, considering the Living Lab as a learning system to generate hybrid knowledge (Nguyen et al. 2014) and tailored science and nature-based solutions. New scientific-based knowledge, integrated tools and processes will be developed, ground tested and validated through the Living Labs to address land degradation and water management across a wide range of “hotspots” of dryland socio-ecological systems. The effectiveness of such co-researching processes will be tested across a wide range of MED socio-ecological contexts, and successful processes will be scaled out through a specific dissemination strategy.
